Satya Pradeep

Satya is a performer, teacher and a choreographer in the Indian Classical Dance forms of Bharatanatyam and Kuchipudi. Trained under exponents, Padmabhushan Kamala Narayan, Sangeet Natak Akademi Awardee R. Rhadha and Padmabhushan Vempati Chinna Satyam, Satya blends tradition with innovation.
Satya Pradeep has performed, conducted lecture demonstrations and workshops at various schools, museums and libraries, through her Dance Academy- Nritya Saagaram (Dance is an Ocean). Apart from her solo and group performances, Satya has also choreographed major dance productions. To name a few…Navarasa Maalika, Maargam, Dashavataaram, Triyee, Vishwa Kshemam and Sthree. Satya’s work is created to retain roots in collective history of philosophy, spirituality and mysticism of South Indian Heritage, while bringing the eloquence of Bharatanatyam and Kuchipudi to Universal themes.
Satya has extended the outreach of these dance forms by presenting educational and enriching dance performances along with her students through various organizations. She has been an active member of the Long Island Dance Consortium, which is composed of presenters, dance professionals, dance companies, dance advocates, arts councils, universities and dance related groups.
Ms. Satya has won numerous accolades and awards. To mention a few…Outstanding services award from Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan, New York (Institute of Indian Culture), ‘Natya Kala Seva Rathna’ from Kanchi Kamakoti Foundation and Selected in 2012 as one of the 5 outstanding women in Long Island, NY by the Indian American Forum.
Satya has performed at prestigious venues such as United Nations, Newark Symphony Hall, Schimmel Theater at Pace University, Long Island University, Metropolitan Museum of Art and Long Island Multi Cultural Festival.
